LLLGI was founded to accelerate local, national and international developments in lifelong learning.

Aims

LLLGI is designed to support people developing policies and large-scale programmes for lifelong learning around the world to increase the impact of their work. Diverse forms of support are available, including guidance in situating and articulating efforts within complex learning systems -comprised of formal education, alternative education and pathways between the two - as well as in contribution to international development frameworks.

LLLGI is global in scope with a focus on Africa and Asia, where the speed of development gives rise to pressing demands and coordination challenges in diverse forms of learning and education, particularly for populations more likely to experience educational disadvantage.

While supporting the improvement of lifelong learning policies and practices for all ages, LLLGI is particularly concerned with children and youth, as too many around the world are suffering from narrow or absent educational provision. Urgent yet methodical transformations towards more flexible and integrated lifelong learning systems can have an immediate impact on young people’s life prospects.
